thankfulness

Thanksgiving has come and gone and I hope my thankfulness will continue even after the turkey digests.  I have been "tagged" to name two things I am thankful for.  I think it's a communist plot to get me to post again.

The first thought that came to mind is that I am thankful for my life.  I have had a good life and God has been good to me.  There were times that I felt frustrated, overwhelmed, and just plan useless, but I look back on those times and see that God taught me much and I would not be who or where I am today without those times.

Second, friends.

I tag Donna & Sharon to post two things they are thankful for.

No money to get my husband a birthday present today. Not to mention his wish list is full of 500 plus dollar items.  But when we get to church today, there is a sign "free piano".  And it is free, and it is a nice piano, and it only needs to be hauled from the basement to our home.  With the help of some good friends (thanks, Jeff  & Dave), Fred now has his birthday present sitting in our dining room and he played the Pink Panther for me.  He would play it for you too, just come over sometime.

Happy Birthday, Fred Warren Hayward.  Over our half our lives spent together....wow.....I can't wait for the other half.

Currently Reading
Jesus Land: A Memoir
By Julia Scheeres
see related

I spent some time sitting at Woodland Mall yesterday....people watching.  I came to this conclusion:

Consumerism breaks down racial barriers more that anything else I've witnessed.

I also read a very good book (listed above or below) and strongly urge you to read it....but be ready to be angry and sad.
